For the empty-nesters...

Now that Mama and Daddy are rattling around in that big house all by themselves, let's take a look back at the last time they had a little privacy...

  1. Mama and i are dressed and ready to go to the Mormon Fine Arts Ball. That was a great evening, held in the Harris Fine Arts Center, with the BYU symphony orchestra playing for the dancing in the main hall, with other musical groups at various places around the Fine Arts Center, and one act plays presented in one or more theatres.

i was still under some German influence. my shoes are German shoes that i got in Germany. i kept them for many years. the four button narrow lapel plaid suit is a suit i got in Germany. i think it is still in my closet. i ought to try it on to see if it still fits.

Mama kept the dress and the shoes for a long time. i can't see her left hand so i do not know if she is wearing a ring at this time.

    Love Daddy

  2. The more I see pictures of you and Mama from your early days, the more I realize that I, with my fashion ignorance, am the exception in our family. You, Mama, Rosalynde, Gabrielle, Brigham, Rachel, Benjamin, Abraham, Christian, Eva--every single member of the family except for me has a sense of style and fashion!

  3. Wow, Daddy, your memory is amazing. I've forgotten most of the details of my college career, and I'm still in college!

Also, Naomi, are you sure I have a sense of style and fashion? Because I'm pretty sure I don't. (Don't worry, I'm OK with that)

  4. I made my dress the night before! Got the pattern and fabric that afternoon, sewed it in one sitting! Too bad our photographer didn't know you should NEVER take pictures with that unattractive angle... No ring on my finger at that point - just a promise :)

  5. Wow--and I'm proud of myself when I can make a toddler-sized apron in about 6 hours :).

Abe, maybe I've been deceived by the skinny pants that Ben and Shayla gave you for christmas a few years ago :).
