- riding on the firetruck in the parade
- seeing the Shriners riding around in their little cars
- pancake breakfasts up by Switzer Falls
- (occasionally) getting candy from the real estate agents camped out on the parade route

Oh, what fun small-town memories. I remember getting paper bags of popcorn that someone or other gave out-- probably the real estate agents. :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember some flag-raising ceremonies (many in our own front yard!), and I remember going to Memorial Park and always wanting to buy cotton candy. the one time I did, it made me sick.
