A North Carolina Christmas
So what elements of this Christmas still exist today? Do you recognize anything from these pictures? (besides the beautiful mother and the now-grown baby?)
Two wonderful pictures. Rosalynde and 5 and a half months. she was a beautiful then as now. Look at that hi-tech stroller - i am sure all of you kids wish you had one just like it. Look at that beautiful young mother. i am so blessed. Do you like the purple pillow? i still have my Christmas stocking from the first years in Durham. the pajamas you see in the picture are still in my drawer. the robe has long since disappeared.
We still have the books you see in the pictures. the sugar we have long since eaten.
You can see that Mama and i lived in affluence. we loved those years. we were 2,500 miles from family. air fares were relatively expensive back then. we relied on each other. we celebrated Christmas and the Savior's birth together three years in a row, with friends and Ward members in Durham.
You are all so fortunate to live in wonderful times. Enjoy every minute of it.
